Coffee and questions: relaxed information drop-in sessions

Do you have questions about funerals, the different types of service, what might be possible to arrange, or even how and where to start? Local independent funeral directors R. Locke & Son are offering a series of informal drop-in sessions covering key areas of funeral planning so you can ask questions in a relaxed and friendly setting.

R. Locke & Son are a local family business with established offices in Brailes, Kineton and Wellesbourne, and a new office in Shipston on Stour.

The information sessions will be relaxed and friendly with tea, coffee and biscuits, and expert guidance on hand to answer any questions you might have. The first sessions will be themed around pre-paid funeral plans and will take place at:

Shipston on Stour
Wednesday 30th April at 10am-1pm

Wellesbourne Office
Wednesday 7th May at 10am-1pm

Subsequent sessions will cover direct cremation, natural burial grounds and bereavement support.

What services do we offer?

We can arrange traditional or modern funerals based on a burial, cremation, natural burial, woodland, religious, civil or non-religious service.

If your loved one didn’t want a traditional funeral, we can arrange a simple low-key service using our hearsette instead of the traditional hearse together with pared back options.

Direct cremation

We are pleased to offer a respectful direct cremation or burial service as a simple, dignified and affordable choice. This provides you with the opportunity to celebrate the life of your loved one in your own way, with or without a separate ceremony. Direct cremations have the option of viewing, a particular choice of coffin, allowing a limited attendance at the The Vale Crematorium or arranging a small gathering at our chapel in Brailes.

Green Options

We also offer a variety of ‘green’ funeral options, from locally sourced flowers to coffins made from environmentally friendly materials, such as cardboard and willow produced in the UK, some as close as Radford Semele.

Our dedicated and compassionate service extends to online funeral announcements and the collection of donations with Gift Aid via our website and on the day of the funeral, arrangement of venue, vehicles, service options and music, plus other elements as required to create a fitting farewell.

Brailes Chapel and Grounds

Our Brailes office is set on the edge of the Cotswold countryside, offering comfortable reception rooms where we can sit down to chat and make arrangements, and peaceful grounds where you are welcome to take time to reflect. Our chapel of rest can seat up to 22 people, allowing us to hold your funeral service in Brailes, rather than a local crematorium or church.
