When Life Changes: support available

Video Support

The 'When Life Changes' video programme is delivered directly to you by email as 13 separate video segments, each one personally filmed by Dr Bill Webster.

Dr Bill brings a unique blend of personal experience, academic education, and many years of practical application to his work, both as an educator and a qualified bereavement counsellor, combining his own stories of loss with his knowledge to bring a sense of comfort to you on your own unique journey.

Each video segment is between 5 - 7 minutes long and can be watched at a time and day to suit you, and revisited if you wish to reflect and return at any time. The first email includes a short welcome video and a chance to reflect on your own unique journey, and each weekly video will be sent to you via an email.

You can unsubscribe at any time if you change your mind.

“No one knows ‘exactly how you feel’, it’s true. But our facilitators have been through their own experience and have come to understand its meaning. They will be able to empathise with you, identify with your struggles and lend you meaningful support throughout the process. I believe you’re in good hands.”

Community Support

When Life Changes Community Support programme consist of 8 weekly sessions, each lasting 60-90 minutes. Together, we will watch a short video from Dr Bill Webster, followed by a group conversation facilitated by our bereavement support coordinator, Sorcha O’Flynn. Should you wish to use them, there are also companion worksheets available for each session.

Do I have to talk in sessions?

You don’t HAVE to do anything you don’t want to. Some people will talk, others will just want to listen. Your facilitator has experience in leading groups and dealing with situations that may arise, and we hope you will feel comfortable joining a small group discussion, as peer to peer support can be very helpful.

What if I feel nervous about coming along?

We understand this is probably the last place in the world you want to be. Just being here is a reminder of the situation you find yourself in right now. But we believe it’s the situation that BRINGS you here that gives you apprehension, not the place itself, and we hope that within a short time, you will find this can be a place of hope and healing.
