Support through your bereavement journey with Solution Focus Therapy (SFT)

Solution Focus Therapy (SFT) has been characterised as the ‘therapy of hope’ to help clients find meaningful solutions to problems in life, and can be a powerful and effective way of supporting your journey through loss, bereavement and grief.

What is SFT?

Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) is a simple, short-term, goal-orientated, highly effective and versatile therapy approach that is accessible to us all. It changes lives. Unlike many other therapies, SFT recognises that the client is the expert of their own solution in life, assisting them to think not about their problems but about their strengths and possible solutions.

While SFT is not yet widely known, it isn't new and was developed by Steve de Shazer and Inzoo Kim Berg at a Family Therapy Centre in America in the 1980s. By the 1990s SFT arrived to London and it's popularity and availability has continued to grow.

SFT offers you a place to feel heard, valued and supported, and at R. Locke & Son we are proud to offer this as part of our aftercare and bereavement support options.
